Kirk Timmons earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts
degree from Michigan State University where he majored in Studio Art and Art Education. He also
has a Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University. Kirk has a home in Davison, Michigan where he lives
with his wife, son, and daughter. Kirk has been the art teacher at Armstrong Middle School in Flint, Michigan since
1996. In addtion to painting and family life, Kirk is a runner who has completed 4 marathons, and is an avid sports
fan (thus, the sports paintings).
Kirk uses a minimal palette to create natural colors and to capture the effects of natural light on his canvas.
He paints in a style he refers to as "loose realism" which allows his images to be accurate, but
embellished by the materials he uses and the artist's flair for design.
